WATERWAYS FORWARD FINAL CONFERENCE

PARIS – 6 – 9th NOVEMBER 2012

The conference takes place on a boat chartered from Croisieurope River Cruise Company departing from Quai de Grenelle  in Paris and will  cruise from Tuesday 6th evening until Wednesday 7th     

Topics to be discussed during the conference are:

  • The potential of inland waterways for growth –  moderated by Philip Maugé (VNF)
  • The potential of inland waterways for regeneration –  moderated by Christian Lefèvre
  • The potential of inland waterways for river cruise activity
  • The potential of inland waterways for green economy.

The conference will also include a visit to the Canal Saint Martin by boat.

Landscape Interface Studio, Kingston University will present the project’s final exhibition which will illustrate how waterways contribute to Europe2020 – the European Union’s 10 year growth strategy.  Specifically, how Europe’s inland waterways can help deliver the 3 main pillars of EU2020 – Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth.  The exhibition will contain 3  commissioned animations and videos each representing these 3 main growth areas…these animations will be available to watch on this blog following the final exhibition next week.
