Environment and Agriculture European Commissioner supports integrated development of Danube Delta

European Commissioners for the Environment and Agriculture Janez Potocnik and Dacian Ciolos support the integrated development of the Danube Delta and think that the reserve has major opportunities considering the future budget of the European Union.  The European officials and the representatives of Romania’s Government discussed the problems of the Danube Delta and the projects for this area with the local authorities, fishermen and nongovernmental organizations.

‘The Danube Delta is a treasure. We can keep the Delta as it is now and must not miss this chance. We must support these people living here…… I see major opportunities considering the future budget of the EU.’
